The Zambian league comes to a close tomorrow in potentially very dramatic circumstances with a prospective first time winner in Napsa Stars or Nkana finally landing their 13th crown. While pundits have set the battle as a two horse race it could still dramatically provide an outside winner depending on the results on the final day.
FAZ Super Division leaders Napsa, on 48 points, are on the verge of their debut league title and must beat fourth placed Forest Rangers this away at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe to attain that feat.
Standing in Napsa’s way are second placed Nkana who have 47 points and a no-show Nakambala Leopards to steer past before keeping an eye on proceedings across the dual carriageway.
Forest, like defending champions and third positioned Zesco United who host Red Arrows in Ndola, can only touch 49 points with victories at the end of business on August 6.
The National Division One also stands to provide a photo finish with Prison Leopards, Young Green Eagles, Indeni and Kitwe United setting their eyes on qualification to the Super League.
Befittingly a Zambia Air Force chopper will be in position in Kapiri Mposhi with the trophies awaiting which side of the divide will provide eventual winners.
The final day drama has been coloured with the gesture by the ZAF command to make available a chopper to FAZ, MTN and Eden University to conclude their leagues in grand style.
Wherever the winners will be, will be the destination for the ZAF chopper that will add to the drama on the final day.
